Couple Terms of Service

These terms apply to you as a couple using the UNVL platform. Please read them carefully before creating an account. By signing up, you agree to these terms.

1. Who We Are

1.1. UNVL Ltd ("UNVL", "we", "us", "our") is a company registered in England and Wales.

1.2. We operate a wedding planning platform that helps couples discover, compare and connect with wedding suppliers.

2. What These Terms Cover

2.1. These terms govern your use of the UNVL platform, including our website and mobile applications (the "Platform").

2.2. They apply to all couple accounts. Separate terms exist for wedding suppliers who list on the Platform.

2.3. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data. Together with these terms, it forms the complete agreement between you and UNVL.

3. Eligibility

3.1. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

3.2. You must be genuinely planning a wedding or civil partnership ceremony.

3.3. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

4. Your Account

4.1. Each couple may hold one account on the Platform.

4.2. You must provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating your account, including your names, wedding date, location and budget.

4.3. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your password with anyone outside your couple.

4.4. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at legal@unvl.co.

4.5. Both members of a couple may access and manage the same account.

5. Couple Pricing: Free Core, Optional Paid Upgrades

5.1. All core planning features on UNVL are free for couples. You can use Match, Style, Assist, Budget, Select and Messages without paying anything, and we will only ask you for payment details if you choose to buy one of the optional paid extras described below.

5.2. UNVL Plus is an optional paid subscription (£9.99 per month) that raises your usage limits on our AI features. Credit packs are optional one-off purchases (for example £4.99 for 50 credits or £14.99 for 200 credits) that you can spend on UNVL Assist messages once you have used your free allowance. Credits are used only within UNVL: they cannot be transferred to suppliers, used to pay for any booking, or exchanged for cash, and they are spent only on Assist. Most of the Platform, including Match, Style image search, Budget, Select and Messages, stays free whether or not you buy Plus or credits.

5.3. Payments for Plus and credit packs are processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details. Before you buy, the checkout shows the price, exactly what you are buying, how often you will be charged, and how to cancel.

5.4. Cancelling, and your right to cancel. You can cancel UNVL Plus at any time from your account settings. Cancelling stops future monthly charges, and your Plus features continue until the end of the period you have already paid for. As a consumer, you also have a 14-day right to cancel a new Plus subscription or credit purchase under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Two points apply if you start using a paid feature within that 14-day period: (a) for Plus, if you ask us to start the subscription immediately you may be charged for the part of the service provided up to the point you cancel; and (b) for credits, once you start spending them you lose the 14-day right to cancel the credits you have used, because they are digital content supplied with your consent. We show this information and obtain the necessary consents at checkout.

5.5. Our revenue comes mainly from supplier subscriptions, together with these optional couple purchases. We will give you advance notice of any change to couple pricing, and any genuinely new paid feature will require your separate, explicit agreement before you are charged.

6. Platform Features and AI Services

UNVL Match

6.1. UNVL Match uses artificial intelligence to suggest wedding suppliers based on your style preferences, budget, location and other criteria you provide.

6.2. Match recommendations are generated by AI models, including technology from third-party AI providers. These recommendations are suggestions only and should not be treated as professional endorsements or guarantees of suitability.

6.3. We do our best to surface relevant suppliers, but we cannot guarantee that every recommendation will be a perfect fit. You should always conduct your own research before booking any supplier.

UNVL Style

6.4. UNVL Style is a visual search and inspiration gallery. You can browse images, upload your own photos and share Pinterest links to help us understand your wedding style.

UNVL Assist

6.5. UNVL Assist is an AI-powered wedding planning adviser. It can answer questions, help you make decisions, and guide you through the planning process. When you upload images or share links, we analyse them using AI to identify your visual preferences and improve your Match recommendations. See Section 8 for details on content you upload. Some details you choose to give us (for example dietary, accessibility, or religious ceremony requirements) are "special category data," which we process only with your explicit consent as described in our Privacy Policy.

6.6. Assist is powered by large language models from third-party AI providers. It provides informational guidance only. It is not a substitute for professional advice from wedding planners, solicitors, financial advisers or other qualified professionals.

6.7. Assist supports voice input, which is transcribed by a third-party transcription provider. When you use voice input, your audio is sent for transcription and the transcribed text is then processed in the same way as typed messages. We do not store raw audio recordings after transcription is complete.

6.8. Assist remembers context from your previous conversations to give you more personalised advice. This conversation memory is stored on your account. You can export or delete your conversation history at any time (see Sections 11 and 14).

Budget, Select and Messages

6.9. Budget helps you allocate and track your wedding spending. We do not process payments or handle financial transactions, Budget is a planning tool only.

6.10. Select lets you shortlist, compare and book suppliers. Any booking you make is a direct arrangement between you and the supplier (see Section 12).

6.11. Messages allows you to communicate directly with suppliers on the Platform. Availability requests let you check whether a supplier is free on your wedding date.

7. Important AI Disclaimer

7.1. Several features on the Platform use artificial intelligence, including Match, Style and Assist. While we work hard to make these tools helpful and accurate, AI technology has limitations.

7.2. AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or inappropriate. You should verify any important information independently.

7.3. We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy or completeness of any AI-generated recommendations, suggestions or advice.

7.4. AI features are tools to support your planning, not replacements for your own judgement. Decisions about your wedding are ultimately yours to make.

8. Content You Upload

8.1. You may upload images, share Pinterest links and provide other content through the Platform ("Your Content").

8.2. You retain full ownership of Your Content at all times. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of your images or other materials to UNVL.

8.3. By uploading content, you grant UNVL a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, analyse and process Your Content for the purpose of operating the Platform. This includes using AI to analyse images for style matching and recommendations.

8.4. This licence lasts for as long as Your Content remains on the Platform. When you delete Your Content or your account, we will remove it in accordance with Section 14.

8.5. You confirm that you have the right to upload any content you share with us and that it does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property or other rights.

8.6. We may remove any content that violates these terms or that we reasonably believe is unlawful, harmful or inappropriate.

9. Conversation Memory and Data

9.1. When you use UNVL Assist, your conversations and the decisions you share are stored on your account. This allows Assist to provide personalised, context-aware guidance over time.

9.2. Conversation memory includes the text of your messages, Assist's responses, and any preferences or decisions captured during your conversations.

9.3. You can view your conversation history within the Platform at any time.

9.4. Conversation data may be used in anonymised, aggregated form to improve the Platform. Individual conversations are never shared with third parties, except where required by law.

10. Platform Rules

10.1. You agree to use the Platform responsibly and in accordance with these terms. In particular, you must not:

(a) Create fake, misleading or duplicate accounts.

(b) Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.

(d) Scrape, crawl or use automated tools to extract data from the Platform.

(e) Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to access the source code of the Platform.

(f) Send abusive, threatening, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate messages to suppliers or other users.

(g) Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene or infringes the rights of others.

(h) Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure or security.

10.2. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these rules, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.

11. Data Export

11.1. You have the right to download a copy of your personal data held on the Platform, in line with your rights under UK GDPR.

11.2. This includes your profile information, wedding preferences, conversation history, shortlists and any other data associated with your account.

11.3. To request a data export, contact us at privacy@unvl.co or use the export feature within the Platform. We will provide your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format within 30 days of your request.

12. Supplier Relationships

12.1. UNVL is a platform that connects couples with wedding suppliers. We are not a party to any agreement, contract or arrangement between you and any supplier.

12.2. When you book, hire or engage a supplier, that relationship is directly between you and the supplier. UNVL does not guarantee, endorse or take responsibility for any supplier's services, quality, availability, pricing or conduct.

12.3. Any disputes between you and a supplier must be resolved directly between you and the supplier. While we may offer assistance where we can, we have no obligation to mediate or intervene.

12.4. Suppliers set their own prices, terms and conditions. We recommend that you confirm all details directly with any supplier before making a booking.

13. Disclaimers

13.1. The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties or representations, express or implied, about the Platform's suitability, reliability, availability or accuracy.

13.2. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of viruses or other harmful components.

13.3. We do not guarantee the quality, reliability, availability or suitability of any supplier listed on the Platform.

13.4. Information on the Platform, including AI-generated content, is provided for general guidance only and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision.

14. Account Deletion

14.1. You may delete your account at any time through the Platform settings or by contacting us at privacy@unvl.co.

14.2. When you delete your account, we will remove your personal data, profile information, conversation history and uploaded content within 30 days.

14.3. Some data may be retained in anonymised or aggregated form for analytical purposes, where it can no longer be linked to you.

14.4. Data that we are required to retain by law (for example, for tax or regulatory purposes) will be kept for the minimum period required, after which it will be deleted.

14.5. Deletion of your account is permanent and cannot be reversed. Any supplier conversations or booking arrangements you have made will not be affected by account deletion, as those are separate relationships.

15. Limitation of Liability

15.1. Couples can use UNVL's core features free of charge, and may also choose to buy optional paid features (UNVL Plus and credits). To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject always to Section 15.4, UNVL's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Platform is limited as far as the law allows. Nothing in this section limits our liability below what the law requires for any paid feature you have bought.

15.2. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses.

15.3. In particular, we are not liable for:

(a) The actions, omissions, quality or conduct of any supplier.

(b) Any decision you make based on AI-generated recommendations or advice.

(d) Any interruption or unavailability of the Platform.

15.4. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

16. Changes to These Terms

16.1. We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will give you at least 30 days' notice before the changes take effect.

16.2. Notice will be provided by email to the address associated with your account and/or by a prominent notice on the Platform.

16.3. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you may delete your account before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

17. General

17.1. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17.2. If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

17.3. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

17.4. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and UNVL regarding your use of the Platform.
